Glencoe Proposal Photographer – Hector and Fernanda
“You just couldn´t stop surprising us. Thank you so much for everything. You are simply amazing!”
I am a romantic at heart – that probably doesn’t surprise you, I spend my life documenting love after all! So when Hector and Fernanda told me how they met I was hooked, it has to be one of the cutest ‘meet cutes’ I’ve ever heard. Forget Hollywood romcoms, this is the real deal!
Both Fernanda and Hector are from Mexico, growing up in different towns very far away from each other. Hector was working over in Germany and stopped off in a bar one evening. Fernanda also happened to be in Germany, travelling and working her way around. She also ended up in that same bar. They met, got chatting and, well, the rest is history. How amazing that two Mexicans had to travel across the world to find each other!

Scottish proposal planning, Glencoe
They now live together in Germany. Hector got in touch with me, he wanted to propose to Fernanda while they were over in Scotland on holiday. However he needed some help with logistics. Over Zoom calls, emails and lots of chatter we came up with the perfect plan. This proposal was going to be amazing!
Keen to explore the ‘real’ Scotland, to see all the beauty it has to offer, Hector and Fernanda headed over to Glencoe, arguably one of the picturesque places in the country. With mountains, woodlands, waterfalls, rivers and so much history it really is amazing. Hector wanted to propose at the most iconic spot in this most iconic of locations, the little white bothy. Also known as the Wee White House or its actual name – Lagangarbh Hut – this isolated cottage sits in the shadow of Buachaille Etive Mòr, It’s one of the most photographed spots in Glencoe. That, of course, made it easy for me to pose as a tourist with a decent camera!
While Hector and Fernanda started their day with a walk, I was up at the bothy setting up their luxury Scottish picnic. I’d sourced tasty locally made cheeses, oatcakes, tablet and shortbreads. The best Scotland has to offer! Plus a bottle of champagne too of course. I’d bought everything from the local, independent shops near where I live, I’m always keen to promote local businesses and I knew anything I bought from here would be incredible.

Glencoe wedding proposal
As they arrived at the Wee White House, Hector got down on one knee and proposed. He had the most beautiful speech prepared and, you guessed it, Fernanda’s answer was a resounding yes!
I congratulated them and showed them the picnic that Hector had planned. We did a champagne spray photo – what a fun way to celebrate – and the two of them enjoyed their goodies and took in the moment.
We spent the rest of the afternoon on their adventure engagement shoot, exploring the Glencoe area, letting them take in the awesome surroundings and chatting away about the proposal. We finished at Kings House Hotel, getting some lovely photos with a different backdrop. We’d have loved to have spotted the resident deer but they just weren’t around that day. That didn’t spoil the mood though, these two were just so loved up, and happy to get close to each other and revel in their engagement.
