Surprise Proposal Photographer Scotland

Surprise proposals are just that – a surprise – and as such I photograph them candidly and unobtrusively. Ahead of the big day we will have a detailed planning call, where we sort exact timing, locations and create a plan for your session- we will be well prepared on both sides to ensure the big moment runs smoothly!

I make sure to blend in with the background, so your partner won’t even notice I’m there – or at the very least will simply see a fellow ‘tourist’ taking photos of the scenery, rather than a photographer there to photograph them!

Once the proposal itself has taken place, I’ll come over and say congrats!, and from there we can do a nice relaxed couples session if you’re both up for it – your very first photos as engaged people!

For me, photography is all about capturing the genuine connection between
people, and we’ll keep things natural and fun while you celebrate the start of this next chapter in your lives together.

Scotland’s terrain is pretty diverse: from dramatic mountains and colourful valleys, to serene lochs and unspoiled woodland, to rocky coastlines and ruined castles – and our incredible cities of course! There is no shortage of incredible backdrops to choose a proposal spot from and you don’t need to be a pro hiker or an adrenaline junkie to get epic photos either.

If you already have a location in mind, great! Let’s chat it over and I can advise how doable it is (the top of a mountain is not always adviseable when it’s an 8hr hike).

If you have no idea what you’re looking for, I got you – I’ve travelled all over Scotland with my camera and would be happy to share some options with you too. (All the super secret gems – oh yes – I have them.)

I have photographed loads of proposals all over Scotland, and together we will put a detailed plan in place from exact spots, timings, and extras that will make your proposal unique. I take the stress out of planning, so the only nervousness left is around actually popping the big question on the day!

I can also give you some ideas for special additions to help make the day more memorable, a surprise bottle of bubbly or romantic picnic are firm favourites. Leave it to me and I’ll get everything set up and ready for you, which means you can just relax and enjoy every minute.

On the day we’ll have a pre-prepared plan of where I’ll be, where you’ll be and how it will all come together. Deep breaths – we got this!

Depending on your chosen location I will either be hidden away, or pretending to be a tourist taking photos of the view and I always arrive well ahead of your arrival time so I’m ready to go.

I’ll have done my homework, I’ll know what you look like and we’ll have shared locations. It’s time!

After the oh-my-god-is-this-real-squeeee has sunk in, I’ll come over and say hi and take you both on an epic photo adventure!
