The Comrie Croft wedding of Karen & Ross
“The photos are absolutely amazing and even more gorgeous than what I could ever hope for! I was in tears at how you were able to catch these amazing moments!
Thank you SO much for coming to our wedding plus making me and Ross (& everyone) feel so comfortable and relaxed when we both are usually super uncomfortable getting pictures taken! You really added so much happiness to our day!”

Woodland wedding at Comrie Croft
I’ve been to Comrie Croft before for shoots but this was my first time photographing a wedding there. It’s a fab venue, a beautiful eco friendly steading up in Perthshire. I really love the vibe of the place, when you’re there you feel so connected to nature and the living world. The 230 acre estate is full of trails, woodland and stunning views.
Ross and Karen’s ceremony took place in the woods, it felt so whimsical and magical to be amongst the trees. All of their guests gathered at the Croft before walking up the hill to the woods. The string quartet really set the mood and brought everything together, it was so beautiful hearing nothing but the music and birdsong. It felt like we were in our own little wonderland.
After their ceremony and handfasting it was time for the three of us to go on a wee wander around Comrie Crofts grounds. There were so many fab spots for photos and Karen and Ross are total troopers. They were up for anything! We encountered midges, thorns and I had them running through all kinds of foliage, they loved it. Thankfully they were both wearing their Docs! I got some amazing photos and it was so much fun to throw ideas out there and for them to completely embrace climbing, ducking under branches and all kinds of antics!

Magical wedding inspiration, Scotland
Their wedding reception took place in Comrie Croft’s barn. It’s a real blank canvas, ideal for couples who want to put their own stamp on their day. Ross and Karen had gone all out on the decor. They’d brought in the amazing Gloam who had transformed the space into a magical, Harry Potter-esque world. The ambience was dark and moody with deep, rich colours, floating candles, potion bottles and fairylights strung from the ceiling. I loved the quirky furniture too, especially the cosy little snug area.

Comrie Croft is the most amazing wedding venue and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re planning a whimsical, magical wedding amongst nature then it would be right up your street. Here are some of my highlights from Ross and Karen’s day.
