Becky & Ewan at The Cow Shed, Scotland
Dogs, colour, fun, beaches…Becky and Ewan’s day had it all. As I drove away my cheeks were hurting, I don’t think I stopped smiling once! It’s a real privilege to do this job, I get to spend the day with lovely people and have the best time. It sure beats heading into a 9-5 each day!
The Cow Shed Scotland in Crail is a really beautiful, rural venue. I could see why Becky and Ewan had made the long trip from London to get married there. Ewan is Scottish so they always knew they wanted to get married up here and, as soon as they set eyes on The Cow Shed Scotland, they knew it was the place for them.

Weddings at The Cow Shed, Scotland
One of the best things about The Cow Shed is that couples get the whole place to themselves. This made for a really chilled out morning and I spent my time going back and forth between Becky and Ewan. There was a real contrast between the nerves and excitement of the guys and the girls, who were all very laid back and taking their time getting their hair and makeup done. It all felt very relaxed in their wee cottage (with a little bit of nervous anticipation thrown in there!) Becky and Ewan’s lovely dog was onsite as well so everyone was taking it in turns to entertain the pup.
The Cow Shed has been owned and run by the Logan family for over 70 years. It started life as, you guessed it, a cow shed, housing calves for the working dairy farm. In the 1980s the dairy farm shut down but since 2016 the Cow Shed has had a new lease of life. It’s now an amazing blank canvas wedding venue with original features and views across the Firth of Forth.
Becky and Ewan’s wedding ceremony took place in the Barn, a rustic stone building with whitewashed walls and huge windows overlooking the fields. It was such a heartfelt ceremony with some really tender, emotional moments. I’m a big fan of a Humanist ceremony, they’re always really informal and very much about the couple. There was a lot of laughter, as well as a few happy tears from the guests.
Crail Harbour Wedding Photos
As their family and friends enjoyed drinks out in the courtyard, Becky, Ewan and I headed out to a nearby field for some photos. They’d lucked out with the weather and we really wanted to make the most of it. Of course, we were joined by their lovely dog for some photos and then, later that afternoon, the three of us drove into Crail. We made our way down to the beach and shot some pictures there, as well as on the tiny stone harbour.

Becky and Ewan are super stylish and so creative. They had done everything themselves. It was a real DIY wedding but I honestly thought they’d had some professional help. That’s how good it all looked! If either of them ever decide to switch careers then there’s a job in the wedding industry for them! They’d really thought about everything and made sure that the little pops of colour complimented the rustic backdrop. It was so unique and stylish. Those little origami cranes must’ve taken them hours to put together!

Since I photographed their wedding Becky and Ewan have welcomed a new member of the family, their gorgeous wee baby. I was over the moon when they contacted me to say they were back up in Scotland and wanted a family shoot with me. What an honour! I feel so lucky that I get to see my couples get married and then watch their family grow.
Here are some of my favourites from Becky and Ewan’s colourful, fun and rustic wedding at The Cow Shed, Scotland. Enjoy!
