Hayley’s mum and dad decided to celebrate her first birthday by booking her first professional photo shoot- a cake smash session at my Glasgow photography studio. They chose a rainbow theme for her shoot, from her colourful tutu right down to her giant rainbow cupcake made by the fabulous Louise Barrie Cakes in Glasgow.
As always, I started with some first birthday photos of Miss H in a lovely dress before moving on to the fun part- the cake smash! Hayley was a little unsure about her cake, and like a true princess wasn’t too excited about getting her hands full of icing. It took a little bit of convincing but soon enough she warmed up to the idea and once she got a taste there was no going back! One of the tidiest cake smash photo shoots I’ve ever done, Hayley left half of her cake untouched, a nice treat to share with mum and dad later at home.
You’ll notice a few “behind the scenes” photos from this first birthday photo session below too: I never put my camera down at a session as sometimes the moments in between planned shots are too lovely not to capture! These unposed shots are often some of my clients’ favourites as they show the real interactions between family members and the most genuine of reactions from everyone involved!
