Meet Luke | 21 days new
Luke was so curious about the new world around him that he didn’t shut his eyes for a second during our shoot, and who can blame him? The world is his to explore.
Babies don’t always want to sleep during newborn photoshoots, and there is no need to worry if they won’t- especially if you’ve chosen a natural, in home session to capture your baby’s first days. In home newborn photography sessions are becoming increasingly popular in Scotland as an alternative to traditional, studio styled shoots. While studio sessions tend to focus on props, setups and poses in home newborn photography does just the opposite, instead focusing on real movements and interactions between your baby and the new world around them. There are no unnatural poses, no babies in baskets and no rigid plans for setups here! In home newborn sessions are baby led, which means we allow your new baby to relax into their own natural positions and movements. If they don’t fall asleep, that’s okay! These first yawns and stretches, cuddles and feeds are amazing moments to capture in photos and I bet you’ll treasure them for a very long time to come. We can pause for as many cuddle and feeding breaks as needed (more special photo ops to be had!) and when the wee one is ready to be the star of the show again you can even relax with a cuppa and watch me work.
If you’ve missed the traditional 14 day “newborn window” that most studio photographers employ, you aren’t too late! In home newborn sessions can be done at any time, and are often booked for anywhere from 3-6 weeks after baby’s arrival when you are feeling a little bit more like yourself again and settling into life as a parent of a new baby.
Are you expecting and looking for natural in home newborn photography in Glasgow? You can book in anytime from your 20 week scan onwards, the earlier the better! Newborn sessions are limited to ensure I can be available on short notice, as babies have a habit of arriving on their own schedule.
