The Bothy Glasgow Wedding of Nina & Robin
I love a West End wedding. I’ve lived there ever since I moved over to Glasgow so it has a very special place in my heart. It’s my neck of the woods and I know it well. By a lovely coincidence, the West End is also home to one of my favourite venues for a small wedding, The Bothy. I’d go as far as to say it’s one of the best small venues in the whole of the city. Fabulous food, beautiful surroundings, and close to the West End for great urban photos. What more could you want?!

Wedding photography at The Bothy
Nina and Robin had planned the perfect day for themselves. That morning they got ready together at a nearby family home before having their family photos there too. By getting those photos done and dusted it meant that they could relax and enjoy their reception. Fab plan! It also meant that their beloved dogs could be part of the family photos and couple portraits, as they wouldn’t be able to join them at the wedding. Those two pups are so important to Nina and Robin so it was great we could include them. As a big old dog fan I was onboard with that! I love that so many of my couples have dogs that either join them on the wedding day or are able to be part of the celebrations in some other way. I’ve often been tempted to do a blog all about dogs at weddings, I’ve got some great photos!
Anyway, after taking the family photos and fussing over the pooches, it was time to head over to The Bothy so Nina and Robin could get wed. I love The Scullery, The Bothy’s private dining room and wedding space. It’s so beautiful, atmospheric and full of character. Their ceremony was short but very sweet. Super heartfelt and emotional, you can’t beat a Humanist wedding, then it was straight out in the Courtyard for drinks and catching up with loved ones.

Wedding portrait in Glasgow’s West End
The Bothy is tucked away on Ruthven Lane, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. That afternoon I took the couple for a wee stroll around the back lanes of the West End. I knew the perfect spot for their photos, away from the very popular Ashton Lane. We all loved the cobbled streets, ivy covered walls and old doors that we found. I was in my element!

It was a really chilled and relaxed portrait session. These two are so good at making each other giggle. They’re both such lovely, friendly people and it’s obvious that they always have a blast together. The three of us laughed our way around the West End before heading back to The Bothy in time for some very funny speeches.
This was such a great, intimate wedding and I think I fell even more in love with The Bothy! Here are some of my favourites from Nina and Robin’s day.
