I had the pleasure of being Cathie & Jayson’s wedding photographer in Winnipeg, Canada back in June 2015, and was delighted when they got in touch earlier this year to say they were expecting and would like me to do their first family photo session! Watching families grow is one of my favourite parts of being a professional photographer, and it means so much to me that my wedding clients come back to me for more photos as their families grow.
Meet Kayden, who is almost six months old and full of personality! He was an absolute star for his baby photos- smiling and laughing with not a single tear shed! Six months is a great time for a photo session of your little one: curiosity has kicked in and the smiles and laughs are usually plentiful.
Cathie & Jayson wanted a lifestyle family photography session in the comfort of their own home, which is a great way to capture natural photos of the way you truly live and interact together as a family. Baby, mum and dad are most relaxed this way, and any special props or blankets that are meaningful are on hand for photos.
It’s great when mum and dad are willing participants in a session- chances are you’ll take tons of photos of your baby but probably won’t have many with you in them! Most people don’t love having their photo taken (hey, I get it- I’m included in that too!), but these fleeting moments will be gone before you know it and trust me- you’ll be happy to have the photos in the future (as will your wee one!)
