There is no shortage of castles in Scotland, nor is there a lack of stunning scenery. The location of this engagement shoot found both of the those things in the same place: lovely views over Loch Lomond and the beautiful Balloch Castle in the background.
Margaret & Scott chose Balloch Castle & Country Park as the location for their pre wedding shoot as it’s one of their favourite spots to spend time outdoors together. Margaret spent a few years working away down south in England, and when she would come back home to visit she would often meet Scott here for a nice long walk and catch up. As the park is so familiar to the couple, they felt right at home as we walked around the castle grounds and took on the stunning views over the loch.
It seemed a shame to skip the wooded trails, and these tall trees and spring foliage made for a truly unique backdrop amongst the traditional Loch Lomond scenery.
The walled garden was just starting to bloom, adding a nice little pop of colour to our session! Add in a dramatic stone gate and some steps looking over Loch Lomond and this park pulls out all the stops for the perfect Scottish engagement session.
